Psychotherapy
Individual therapy is a one-on-one process where you can talk about your thoughts and feelings in a safe space. The goal is to help you understand yourself better, find ways to cope, and make positive changes in your life. It’s a team effort between you and your therapist, focusing on your unique needs. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or personal challenges, individual therapy is a chance to reflect and heal.
Often, people come in and say, "Fix me," but I remind them that only they can truly fix themselves. My role is to support you and teach you tools to handle daily challenges. I listen to what you’re struggling with and help you work through your thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, just talking in a confidential setting can help you feel safe enough to share your deepest thoughts. The therapy space should always feel safe for you to open up and be vulnerable.
Here are a few things to know about therapists: you should like and trust your therapist. If you don’t feel a connection, it might be worth finding someone else. A therapist shouldn’t tell you how to live your life; instead, they should offer options and help you make your own choices. They should help you set goals for therapy and explain what to expect in your sessions. You should always feel in control of what happens during your time together.
